architectural membrane association
The intention of AMA is to provide knowledge about the design of membrane structures in order to promote building with membranes. Membrane Structures are still an architectural specialty, the information is not necessarily part of the traditional studies of architects and engineers. To close this information gap AMA bundles the most important information on its website.
In addition, we would also like to point out further training programs which are offered on this topic all over the world. They represent a very good entry into the world of the membranes. The offer ranges from telephone briefing, conferences, multi-day workshops to long-term university master courses.
These courses are academic programs in membrane and lightweight structures covering topics like structural membrane design and engineering, textile-, tensile- and cushion constructions, lightweight membranes and architectural fabrics. International specialists in the field of textile constructions mpart knowledge and proficiency to the students, so that they will be able to design, calculate, detail, build and keep textile constructions.

following presentation is an AIA-approved Continuing Education course for which you will receive 1.00 HW LU and a certificate of completion following successful completion of a 9-question quiz at its end. This presentation will inform you on the design, forms and uses, available materials, components and details, and the design/build process for tensile membrane/tension fabric structures.
Take the non-instructor led web-based course Anatomy of Tension Structure presented by FabriTec Structures and earn 1 HW LU. Click here and get started.
If you are just getting started or if you are already experienced in Membrane Structures, you probably have questions while working on your project. We collected the most frequently asked questions and provided helpful answers.
Go to our Membrane Architecture FAQ and find out more.
The event database, kindly provided by Formfinder, schedules specialist conferences on the topic of membrane structures and other seminars and lectures dealing with this topic. These events provide an overview of the various topics of Membrane Structures and bring together experts and interested parties.
